Guidance and Help
All of the downloadable documents are rtf files apart from three spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel format. All may be edited and customised at will, subject to the terms of the License Agreement.
NOTE: Parts of the Checklists are temporarily locked to preserve the default wording to be found in the Architect's Job Book (Eighth Edition). However, they may be unlocked by following the instructions on the Checklists.
How do I download the documents?
The download process could not be easier! Simply click on Select your documents here or in the navigation bar above, where you will find a complete list of all the documents. By default, all will be pre-selected for download. If there are some that you do not require, please de-select them as required and click the 'Next' button.
A summary of the documents you have chosen will be displayed. If you are not happy with your selection, click the 'Back' button to amend it. Otherwise, click 'Next' and then 'download'.
NOTE: Please be advised that if you have selected all of the documents, they could take some considerable time to download. The time it will take depends on the quantity of documents selected and the speed of your computer and internet connection.
If you are not already logged in to your RIBA Bookshops account, you will be asked to do so before the download starts. If you do not already have an account, don't worry! - you will be able to register with RIBA Bookshops quickly and easily.
When the file download dialogue box appears on your screen, select 'Save' to save the files and then select 'Browse' to find a location for them to be saved in. Follow the on-screen instructions and you will then be ready to use the Architect's Job Book documents to create project plans!

All of the Architect's Job Book's downloadable documents (the Documents) from this site in print, as electronic files or in any other medium are copyright-protected as literary works. However, a licence is given to copy the Documents so that they may be downloaded, stored, modified and distributed by the downloader in pursuance of the downloader's architectural business requirements, namely for the purposes of creating project plans and managing those projects'.
Otherwise, reproduction of the whole or any substantial part of the Documents by any means is an actionable infringement.

The contents and format of the Architect's Job Book downloadable documents (the Documents) are © RIBA Enterprises Ltd. Copying of part or all of the Documents in any form is prohibited other than in accordance with the following permissions.
The Documents may be downloaded, stored, modified and distributed by the downloader in pursuance of the downloader's architectural business requirements, namely for the purposes of creating project plans and managing those projects.
The licence to download the Documents does not permit incorporation of the material in any other work or publication, whether in hard copy or electronic or any other form. In particular (but without limitation) no part of the Documents may be distributed or copied for commercial purposes, without the prior written consent of the copyright owner.
If copyright material is re-used without the permission of the copyright owner, it constitutes a copyright infringement. Under UK law, copyright infringement is a criminal offence and legal proceedings can be taken.
