Using the search box at the top left of the page couldn’t be simpler. Key in any keyword(s): title, author, publisher, ISBN or our stock code and a list of the closest results will be displayed. Suggestions of popular searches will also appear underneath the search box as you type.
Search results can then be refined by category and price range; search results can also be sorted in order by: price, publication date, title or popularity.

How to order online
Browse through the specialist book categories, or alternatively you find your particular item using the search facility. When you have made your selection, simply click the 'add to basket' button. At the top of the page you can view the contents of your basket and update quantities or remove items. When you have finished shopping click the 'checkout' button and follow the instructions to place your order. RIBA Bookshops offers free UK postage on all online orders over £60.
Sign-in or register a new profile then select your delivery address and payment details and press 'submit' to place your order. An email order conformation will be sent to you.
Order online and collect from our London Bookshop at the RIBA Headquarters in Portland Place
Customers may, if they prefer, collect their goods from the RIBA Bookshop at 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD. To arrange a Bookshop pick-up, simply select the 'I would like to collect my order from the London Bookshop' option during checkout. As soon as your order is received our Customer Service team will then contact you to confirm that the book will be available for collection. Please await confirmation before visiting the shop to collect your book.

Order by telephone on +44 (0)191 244 5557 (09.00 – 17.00 GMT, Monday-Friday). Quote the title, ISBN or stock code of your item(s) to our Customer Service team.
Order processing and despatch
Subject to stock availability, orders are normally despatched the following working day. RIBA Bookshops UK orders are sent First Class post as standard and usually arrive the next day (subject to stock availability) with no additional charges. Guaranteed next working day delivery services are also available.
Where goods are out of stock our Customer Service team will contact you with an estimated availability date. Customers can choose to cancel or amend their order at any time prior to dispatch and receive a full refund.
Payment for goods
Payment by credit/debit card is taken at the point the order is processed by our Customer Service team. Where goods are out of stock or are forthcoming, payment will be taken and goods will be dispatched automatically when available. We will advise customers of any problems with their order. Customers awaiting outstanding orders may cancel at any time and receive a full refund (see returns and refunds below).
Payment at the time of placing the order offers increased protection to customers, as we do not hold customers' credit/debit card details on our systems whilst orders are being processed and despatched.

How secure is payment?
Shopping with RIBA Bookshop is safe. All orders travel over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which encrypts your details making them secure from interception. We do not store credit card details but pass the information onto a PCI compliant partner that has a secure payment handling server.
How our goods are delivered
Subject to stock availability UK orders are sent First Class as standard and normally arrive within 1 - 2 days.
Within mainland UK, goods weighing less than approximately 2kg are sent by First Class post, while those weighing more than 2kg are usually sent by our 1-2 day courier service. A signature will be required on delivery for couriered items.
Goods sent outside the UK are sent by standard courier service unless otherwise requested, taking approximately 7–21 days.
If we are unable to deliver the goods within 30 days, you will be informed and advised of the amended date, with the opportunity to cancel your order should you so wish.
Urgent delivery services
For UK online orders, customers can upgrade to UK Next Working Day delivery in the online checkout. See Postage and packing charges below for costs.
Overseas customers can request a quote for urgent courier service in the online checkout. Place your order and pay for standard overseas delivery and a member of our customer service team will contact you with a quote for urgent delivery. See postage and packing charges below for costs.

Postage & packing charges are calculated on the net value of goods before any discounts are applied or VAT added.
Mail order postage & packing charges
UK postage & packing charges:
- Minimum charge £3 for all orders under £30
- Under £100 postage & packing is charged at 10% of total order value
- £100-£200 postage & packing £10 flat fee
- Over £200 postage & packing is free
- Next working day delivery (UK mail order/telephone orders): normal post & packing charges apply plus a Priority Despatch Fee of £3. Orders must be received by 14.00 GMT Monday-Friday for delivery the next working day before 17.30 GMT. Exclusions apply – see below*
Overseas postage & packing charges:
- Minimum charge £10 for all orders under £50
- £50 and over – postage & packing is charged at 20% of the total order value

Online orders postage & packing charges
- Orders £60 and under are calculated at the standard postage & packing rates
- UK orders with a value over £60 are sent post-free. The post-free rate is calculated on the order sub-total, excluding VAT and any customer discounts, and does not include online or downloadable products (only physical items sent via post)
Customers who qualify for the online free despatch offer will be asked to reimburse the postage costs, in full, if any subsequent adjustment to the order made by the customer results in the final order value being less than the qualifying amount.
Next working day delivery (UK online orders):
- Orders £60 and under: guaranteed next working day delivery additional £3 charge
- Orders over £60 (with free postage entitlement) guaranteed next working day delivery – additional £5 charge

Each order placed online will be confirmed by email, immediately after the order is placed. No other action is required by the customer, unless they wish to amend or cancel their order. 10% Discount for RIBA Student Members, BIDA Student Members and CIAT Student Members
RIBA, BIDA and CIAT Student Members are eligible for a 10% discount at RIBA Bookshops on presentation of their membership card in-store. Student member discounts can also be claimed online by registering as a 'Student RIBA/BIDA/CIAT' in the profession/organisation type field and supplying a valid student membership number as part of their profile on www.ribabookshops.com.
RIBA Bookshops reserves the right to withdraw or change promotional offers and discounts at any time and refuse any application.

A refund will be made as soon as possible after the customer cancels, but within 30 days at the latest. Refunds will be issued by the same payment method i.e. debit card payments will be refunded to the same debit card.
Returns and Refunds
Customers wishing to return unwanted, incorrect or damaged goods may do so up to 14 days after the invoice date for UK customers and 28 days for overseas customers. All returned items must be accompanied by the returns form sent with the goods. The returns form is also available to download.
Returns for unsealed software products are at the discretion of RIBA Bookshops. No refunds are given for electronic documentation/downloads including RIBA Agreements Online.
Return of goods
Goods must be returned in a re-saleable condition with original packaging if possible. The customer must arrange for the goods to be returned at their expense; a refund for the goods (excluding original despatch costs) will be provided.

Return of damaged or incorrectly despatched goods
In the event that customers wish to return goods which are damaged or incorrectly despatched, a complete refund for the goods and the original despatch costs will be provided.

RIBA Bookshops will bear the full cost of returning the goods using a freepost address, or by arranging to have the goods collected. The goods should be returned (with original packaging if possible, along with a returns form (see above).
