Description
46 Brooklands Gardens was a temporary sculpture by Nathan Coley, commissioned by firstsite. It was sited for three months in Jaywick, on the Essex coast, in the heart of the Brooklands housing estate.
The work took the form of a single-storey architectural structure, its dimensions drawn from the imprint of the original home that once stood on the plot. A simple steel and ply sculpture, 46 Brooklands Gardens is an interesting piece for Coley through his use of colour.
This publication documents the work in-situ through a series of photographs. A short text by Jes Fernie explores the context, responses to and affects of the work.
