An Aggregate Body: Freudenstein CastleIn 2004 the Freudenstein Castle was purchased by the town council of Freiberg for conversation to a museum to house the unique “terra mineralia” exhibition of the Mining Academy and the Mining Archives of the Free State of Saxony. The interior architecture of the castle not only acts as the framework for the exhibition, but the building’s central position also shapes the cityscape. The change of use required an architectural language to be found that combines and enhances old and new elements.
