Atelier 9 is a professional practice of architects and town planners founded in Marseille in 1965. Beginning with nine partners, the firm today consists of a modular team of about 25, organised around three partners: Guy Daher, founder, François Guy, long-time partner and Fabienne Bétoulaud, the first female partner.
Atelier 9 has enjoyed the rare privilege of having completed some projects for the French Ministry of Culture: The complex of buildings called Le Méditerranée (13-Marseille) and the Centre for Broncho-pneunomology (06-Vence). The firm has also won a number of architectural competitions with the following projects: Stendhal High School, 2007, Milan, Italy; French School, 2008, Algiers, Algeria; University Institute of Technology of Lille; and MP2 air terminal, Marseille-Provence.
