Description

This special issue of a+u magazine concentrates entirely on one house. The 'Toyota Dream Home PAPI' was designed and developed by Ken Sakamura under the auspices of the TRON Intelligent House Research Association, in association with Toyota, who are applying their automotive technology to house construction. The design principle was based on what they call 'Factor 4'. The idea of Factor 4 is that while environmental impact is halved, there is also an attempt to double the comfort of the residence. Another intriguing feature is the ubiquitous network that "makes life comfortable through integrated control of household appliances."

The publication features extensive images and plans of the house, as well as an essay by Sakamura explaining what it's all about. Bilingual in Japanese and English.
