Description

Conditions of Engagement & Fees is a straightforward, highly readable guide for architects about the crucial business of taking on jobs to avoid future problems. It offers back-to-basics information to help the architect to answer the important and deceptively simple questions about who the client is, what is to be designed, what form of procurement is planned, how much is to be paid and when, what qualifies as expenses and what the parameters of the architects role are. In addition, the various standard forms of appointment are examined, with detailed commentaries on important clauses and concepts, supported by succinct case studies. Finally, clear guidance is given on alternative commissions such as consultant switch, novation and taking over from another architect, which are potentially fraught with hidden dangers. This book is set to become essential reading for all architects, whether as a refresher course in good practice or as the bedrock for a successful future.**Free Sample PDF available for Download**
