Description

Light is the tool that gives architects the means to make buildings that achieve a sense of awe. The primary focus of architecture is the connection between what people see and a building's construction. Architects rely on light and its ability to reveal form as a means of forging that connection.

This book looks at the variety of ways in which light is used in contemporary architecture, internally and externally, to enhance the design and sense of space in a building. The various aspects covered - colour, lines, shadows etc. - are illustrated by examples from recent projects.
