Facades: Technical Review

The Technical Review series aims to collate in one place unbiased, need-to-know technical information about particular subject areas, building into a lasting, dependable and attractive desktop reference library. The books will to contribute to the architects annual CPD requirement, with a double weighting of points because all the books are RIBA CPD-assessed and approved.

About the Author

Andrew Watts

Andrew Watts leads newtecnic, a façade technology and research consultancy. He is the author of the Modern Construction Handbook (an RIBA Library recommended textbook), Modern Construction Façades and Modern Construction Roofs. Andrew wrote this book and drew the accompanying illustrations. Andrew has a Masters Degree from the University of Cambridge in Interdisciplinary Design, and has 20 years' experience working as an architect specialising in façade detailing on international projects with a wide range of construction technologies. He was a project architect for Jean Nouvel in Paris, working on some of his most notable buildings. More recently as a façade specialist, Andrew has worked on some well-known projects around the world including Federation Square, Melbourne, the Millennium Bridge, London and Burjuman, Dubai.
