The Alvar Aalto Museum and the Mairea Foundation have joined forces to publish a new book in English entitled Inside the Villa Mairea. The book focuses on the art, interior design and smaller furnishings of the Villa Mairea, one of the most important private homes in the world.
The articles in the book have been written by Martti Anhava, Carolus Enckell, Ben af Schultén and Renja Suominen-Kokkonen. The volume has 312 pages and contains almost 200 new photographs taken by Rauno Träskelin specifically for the book, plus a large quantity of black-and-white material provided by the archives of the Alvar Aalto Museum, Artek and the Mairea Foundation.
