Description

The contribution of seven artists to the regeneration of Falmouth in Cornwall - reflecting public art's role in animating public spaces and restoring a sense of pride and identity - is celebrated in a new book published by a team led by the scheme's landscape architect, David Buurma.

The first section of the book deals with the role of public art in general, while the latter two thirds concentrates on the Moor scheme in particular, with a mini-chapter on each of the artists involved. This is a nice little case study of a town-wide project, and it is dedicated to the people of Falmouth. I hope they were all happy with the results.
