Description

What is “Vietnamese building culture”? This question is not easy to answer in a nation that was divided until 1976 and whose architecture has been influenced by the colonial powers of France and Japan. gmp provides an answer with the new building for the Vietnamese National Assembly in Hanoi. The building combines the past and the future of Vietnam, by taking up the important national tradition of symbols and signs and giving them a modern interpretation. The basic forms of the circle (heaven) and the square (earth) are in the foreground.

In this volume, the responsible architects present the building awarded the Vietnamese National Architecture Prize in detail, by means of plans, images, and texts.
