For most building designers, rammed earth is a novel, innovative and unfamiliar subject. Butfree from additives such as cement - it is an alternative, sustainable and beautiful wall building material and construction technique.
This new guide from Peter Walker and BRE promotes the use of rammed earth wall construction in the UK as a high-quality and sustainable building technology. In one book it gives detailed practical guidance on architectural details, structural engineering recommendations, material selection, construction and maintenance of rammed earth.
Written primarily for UK applications with photos from a number of UK projects included Rammed earth: design and construction guidelines, is an in-depth guide to the subject which will be of interest to both construction professionals and students alike.
