Review by Julian Harrap of Julian Harrap Architects. BD, April 2010.
A worthy book for builders and developers considering the refurbishment and upgrading of buildings as an alternative to demolition and reconstruction.
The two longest chapters cover upgrading the thermal performance of building elements and rebuilding behind existing facades. It would be most useful to those considering making planning and building regulation applications for commercial projects.
