Description

The Green Guide to Specification has assessed the relative environmental performance of over 250 materials and components, providing a quick and easy way for designers and specifiers toc onsider their options.

A wide range of alternative specifications are provided for: walls, floor systems, floor finishes, roofs, windows, doors, ceilings, paints, insulation, and landscaping. Environmental ratings are based on Life Cycle Assessment using the methodology developed by BRE with funding from DETR and support from a wide range of construction manufacturing trade associations. Individual manufacturers can now obtain certified Environment Profiles which allow their products to be compared to the generic profiles. The Green Guide is used for BREEAM schemes to provide materials credits.
