About the Author

Peter Murray

Peter Murray trained as an architect but has spent his career writing and commenting on architecture rather than designing buildings himself. He is a former editor of Building Design newspaper and of the Royal Institute of British Architects' Journal. He co-founded Blueprint magazine and is chairman of Wordsearch, the international communications consultants and of NLA – the centre for London’s built environment. He started the London Festival of Architecture in 2004. He is Deputy Chairman of the Bedford Park Society which looks after the ‘first garden suburb’ in West London.
