Description
Toshiko Mori established Toshiko Mori Architect in New York City in 1981. Since then Toshiko Mori Architect has worked on a number of diverse projects, from exhibition designs, to houses in Florida, Maine, New York City and Israel, museum projects in Maine, and institutional projects in New York, Maine, and Georgia. Most recently, the firm was a finalist in the competition to design the new Museum of Contemporary Arts and Design in New York City and won the competition to design the new Visitors' Center for Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin House in Buffalo, New York.
The firm's specific area of interest is in materials and fabrication methods for architecture and in constantly using both new and traditional materials and techniques for integration of architecture with light and landscape.
