Description

The Urban Task Force was set up in 1998 to stimulate debate about our urban environment and to identify ways of creating urban areas in direct response to people's needs and aspirations. The findings, conclusions and recommendations are presented in this final report to Government Ministers, forming the basis of this new illustrated book.

It will feed directly into the production of the first Government Urban White Paper for 20 years and is probably the first attempt ever to look at all aspects of the development of the urban fabric in one volume.

It contains firm policy conclusions and recommendations for Government an others to respond to.

The Task Force was chaired by Lord Richard Rogers, one of the world's leading architects and thinkers on urban issues.
