Terms & Conditions
How to order
Ordering is simple. Use the Search Facility to find your particular item – you can search by words or by stock code, or alternatively browse through the different subject areas. When you have made your selection, simply click ADD TO BASKET and follow the instructions. There are a number of ways in which you can place your order:

  1. Order online: follow the instructions and order securely online and pay by credit/debit card. Despatch is free to UK addresses for orders over a value of £50 (excluding VAT)
  2. Order online, pay by cheque: follow the instructions, but instead of ordering online using your credit/debit card or customer account, select the PAYMENT BY CHEQUE option. We will then hold on to your submitted order until your cheque is received (cheques payable to RIBA Enterprises)
  3. Order by telephone: follow the instructions, but instead of ordering online, CALL US on +44 (0)20 7256 7222 when your order is complete and we will take your details over the telephone. (09.00 – 17.30 GMT)
  4. Order by post/fax: follow the instructions, but instead of submitting your order on-line, you may print the completed order and either fax it to us on +44 (0)20 7374 2737 with your payment details or post it to our Mail Order team, contact details below

All bookshop customers can access our Customer Book-Find facility. Tell us what titles you are looking for and we will try our best to locate them for you.

EU VAT Customer Notice
Customers based outside the EU (but including the Channel Islands and Switzerland) who have selected VAT-able items in their order will not be charged VAT. For further details contact our Mail Order Customer Service team (details below).
Payment for goods
Payment by credit/debit card is taken at the point the order is placed online or when the order is processed by our Customer Service team (telephone and fax orders). Where goods are out of stock or are forthcoming, payment will be taken and goods will be dispatched automatically when available. We will advise customers of any problems with their order. Customers awaiting outstanding orders may cancel at any time and receive a full refund (see returns and refunds below).

Payment at the time of placing the order offers increased protection to customers, as we do not hold customers' credit/debit card details on our systems whilst orders are being processed and despatched.
How secure is payment?
Shopping with RIBA Bookshop is safe. All orders travel over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which encrypts your details making them secure from interception. We do not store credit card details but pass the information onto a PCI compliant partner that has a secure payment handling server.

Join the thousands of regular customers who have already purchased on-line from us, safely without card fraud. If you do feel uneasy, there are alternative payment methods (see above).
Order processing and despatch
Orders are usually dispatched the following working day, subject to stock availability. Where goods are out of stock our Customer Service team will contact you with an estimated availability date. Customers can choose to cancel or amend their order at any time prior to dispatch and receive a full refund.
