1. Payment for goods

Payment by credit/debit card is taken at the point the order is processed by our Customer Service team. Where goods are out of stock or are forthcoming, payment will be taken and goods will be dispatched automatically when available. We will advise customers of any problems with their order. Payment at the time of placing the order offers increased protection to customers, as we do not hold customers' credit/debit card details on our systems whilst orders are being processed and despatched.

Customers awaiting outstanding orders may cancel at any time and receive a full refund (see returns and refunds below).

RIBA Enterprises reserves the right to request full payment by bank transfer before goods are despatched.

Payment methods

VAT charges

Customers based outside the EU (but including the Channel Islands and Switzerland) who have selected VAT-able items in their order will not be charged VAT. For further details contact our Mail Order Customer Service team (details below).

Books are currently zero rate VAT, while most forms, contracts and DVDs are subject to VAT at the standard rate. VAT is calculated on the net value of the goods, including the despatch costs for VATable goods, at the full VAT rate.

Pricing and editions

RIBA Bookshops believes all prices and details to be correct, but these may be subject to alteration without prior notice.

6. Special offers, promotions and discounts

Where customers are responding to a promotional offer or discount, a discount code may be required (applied during the checkout process) to amend the price on a qualifying order or a physical voucher will be presented at the till if purchasing in store.

Where a discount or promotional code is offered against a specific item or group of items, the discount or offer can only be claimed against those particular items.

Discounts are generally offered on the order sub-total; postage & packing costs are calculated before discounts are applied.
